Awards

All participants on Saturday and Sunday receive the medal award. Our logo is a globe to symbolize the international nature of this International Marching League event.   Near the pole, the first trans-polar flight is coming from Russia to land in Vancouver, Washington.  At the bottom of the globe is a caravan of other symbols of Vancouver history:  Fort Vancouver, the first permanent European settlement in the Oregon Territory.  Covered wagons depict the Oregon Trail.  Lewis and Clark in their canoe, who camped in Vancouver on their journey down the Columbia to the Pacific.  A ship represents the explorers Captain Vancouver and Lt. Broughton.

Our Friday award is still being determined, but we are leaning towards a string backpack.

All Saturday or Sunday walkers receive a cloisonné medal of our globe-shaped logo on a neck ribbon which indicates the year. If you walk both Saturday and Sunday, on Sunday you receive a #2 pin to attach to your ribbon.  If you are entitled to a participation year number 3 through 12 under the old system, you can pick that up at the sales table.  However, we are repurposing the medals previously offered for year 1, 4, 7, and 10 and cannot offer them to you.

Sunday bikers receive our bike award medal on a pinback ribbon drape.  Sunday swimmers receive a gold globe medal on a pinback ribbon drape.  Those who complete the triathlon of walk, bike and swim all on Sunday receive a Triathon neck ribbon on their swim medal instead of the pinback ribbon drape.
